In case you haven’t heard the news, the 2011 Episcopal Youth Event (EYE) will be held June 22-26, 2011 right here in Minnesota (Arden Hills to be exact) on the campus of Bethel University. EYE is a triennial event sponsored by The Episcopal Church that brings together more than 1,500 young people grades 9-12 and adult leaders for worship, reflection, training, and service.
Having been involved with EYE since its inception in 1982, I am thrilled to welcome this fantastic youth leadership event to Minnesota. I find that while EYE is an opportunity to lift up young leaders from across our church and equip them for ministry, it is also a chance for the rest of us to renew our vision for a church in mission.
Undoubtedly, many of us will have a role to play in providing hospitality, leadership, and support to the EYE design team and participants.
