A few years ago, I was fortunate to be asked to be the co-keynote speaker at a conference for vestries in North Carolina with Dwight Zcheile. Our host and coordinator was Randy Ferebee.
Randy served for over thirty years as the priest in one faith community, and along the way learned some very valuable lessons — particularly about becoming a truly missional church. Since his retirement, he has focused his energies on an organization he co-founded called the Epiphany Institute + Consulting to assist other faith communities to enter into the new missional era.
Randy’s book, Cultivating the Missional Church – New Soil for Growing Vestries and Leaders, is a book I recommend for all clergy and lay leaders in the Episcopal Church in Minnesota.
We are blessed to have Randy as our keynote speaker this week at our clergy conference. With Dwight Zcheile and your team of Missioners, they have worked hard to put together a great program on Missional Leadership for clergy.
We were, as they say, doubly blessed to be able to arrange for Randy to extend his time in the Episcopal Church in Minnesota. He will provide a program for other church leaders and anyone else in ECMN who may be interested this Thursday, April 11th at 6:30pm at the Breck Chapel.
‘Now it Springs Forth: Lay Leadership for Mission’ will be the theme of Randy’s presentation, and I hope you will consider joining us as we explore how we can engage God’s mission.
We are aware that for many, this may be a long way to travel. Please contact our Missioner for Communication for information on a video of this talk and/or livestreaming.
