Using our gifts for ministry to build up the body of Christ

The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-12)

The gifts that are being shared in the Episcopal Church in Minnesota are that some will be members of Council, some will be members of Commission on Ministry, some will be members of Standing Committee and some will be members of Trustees to equip our faith communities for the work of ministry, for the building up the body of Christ.

This past Saturday we had our inaugural gathering of our elected bodies in the Episcopal Church in Minnesota. It was a great opportunity to encourage, support and collaborate with each other as we strive for our common vision to resource our faith communities so that they may engage God’s mission.

It was a time to hear recent “Good News” stories, to be enlightened by very comprehensive analysis of our faith communities, to share each elected body’s goals, and to begin to discern how the Spirit is calling us into greater collaboration.

Whether it be our faith communities, our elected bodies, or our missioners we are extremely blessed in the Episcopal Church in Minnesota to have so many passionate folks using their gifts for ministry to build up the body of Christ!
